SVEA, from Zagorje, has more than 250 employees and three profit-making centres (the production of kitchen cabinets in Zagorje, the production of kitchen cabinets and other furniture in Gaber and the sawmill in Zagorje) and is today a successful industrial company. Some 10 to 15 percent of the sales revenues are dedicated to the overall development of the company. SVEA is an EU based company and we have our own professional human resources who also make up our intellectual property; we are proud of our history, culture and organisational routines.
In SVEA we manufacture kitchen cabinets to fit the needs and expectations of a modern European family. Our West and East European markets amount to 35% of our complete production and we are the leading kitchen manufacturer in Slovenia. Our skilled joiners are up to meet just any request. Every kitchen made at SVEA has its own name.
SVEA is a name you come across in various environments. SVEA has been, and remains, a many-year sponsor and partner of the Pihalni orkeseter Svea brass band. We take care of the Alpine hut on the Čemšeniška planina mountain and we sponsor the FIS World Cup Finals in ski jumping and ski flying. In the breathtaking Mozirski gaj flower park in Mozirje, our joiners have built a house furnished with an Angelika kitchen, to show visitors what a pleasant home could look like. We support, through financial contributions, various cultural and sporting associations in our community. Every year we make contributions to health institutions and humanitarian organizations in the Zasavje region and in Slovenia.
SVEA is a shareholding company but its shares are not traded on the stock exchange. The internal ownership amounts to 76 % and shows that employees, former employees and retired workers are loyal and have great trust in the company.
At the 50th anniversary of the company's operation and upon entering the new millennium, Mr. Miroslav Štrajhar, MSc., the General Manager of SVEA, pointed out that the reputation of each company striving to preserve its good name is not only dependant on good financial results, but also other aspects related to the environment and the community. Environmentally friendly products, reliable information systems, efficient advertising and PR and, last but not least, sponsorship – these are the elements that constitute a formula for success.
